Jennifer Aniston in GQ
It’s no doubt that when Jennifer Aniston appeared wearing a patriotic tie on the January 2009 issue of GQ a lot of people were surprised. Aniston never appear nude, and especially not in magazine covers. She was a sweet, girl-next-door type. The GQ photos were featured in showbiz news programs, such as E! News. But it wasn’t a big story because Aniston appeared with a red, white and blue tie. It was a huge story because she was completely nude in the GQ photo shoot, with only a tie as an accessory. When asked about the GQ photo shoot, she remarked on being comfortable enough to appear nude on a magazine cover.
In her interview with the magazine, she expressed her content upon turning 40. At the time of the issue’s release, Aniston was a month away from turning 40, having been born on February 11, 1969. Aniston said she has never felt so comfortable in her skin until now. She admitted she did not feel as peaceful with her mind and body when she was in her twenties and thirties. And it definitely shows in the photos. With a natural golden glow, even Mark Kirby, the GQ Senior Editor who did the interview, remarked on how Aniston looked younger now than her “Friends” days.
Jennifer Aniston became well-known in “Friends” as the ditzy but lovable Rachel Green. For years, women had envied the slim, sun-kissed Rachel who had the cute layered hairstyle. She became so well-known, that now the paparazzi follow her wherever she goes. She talked about this in GQ, commenting how the paparazzi nowadays are so blatant and direct in their stalking, that she misses the days when they would hide behind the bushes to get her picture.
Aniston was also asked briefly about her ex-husband Brad Pitt and his current partner, Angelina Jolie. She was not very straightforward in her replies, but she did say she still talks to Pitt, and never to Jolie. She also talked about her movies, “Marley & Me” and “He’s Not That into You”. But the most interesting part of the interview was when she candidly and cheerfully answered questions about her then boyfriend, the singer-songwriter John Mayer. She said that they “deeply care for one another, and just trying to figure things out.” The on-off couple had been a paparazzi target since they started going out together.
Now, Aniston is developing a movie she wants to make, a female “Wedding Crashers” type of movie. Hollywood studios are not entirely sure about making the movie, but Aniston seems comfortable and confident with her choice of film. And she should be confident, looking great at 40.
